PRIVACY & DATA

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Wi Player collects, uses, stores and protects information in connection with the application, website, licensing, payments and support.

Last updated: August 31, 2026

Privacy Principles

Wi Player follows a data-minimization approach. We aim to collect and keep only the information reasonably necessary to provide the application, manage trials and activations, verify purchases, provide support, prevent abuse, and operate our services.

Wi Player is a media player only. We do not sell IPTV subscriptions, channels, movies, series, sports packages, or playlists.

Data Controller and Operator

Wi Player is currently developed and operated from Morocco. The Wi Player operator is responsible for the information processed directly for Wi Player activation, licensing, website playlist management, purchase verification, and support.

Official business and support contact details will be published before public commercial launch. Until then, the Contact Us page is the designated contact point.

Information We Process

Depending on how you use Wi Player, we may process the following limited information:

  • Wi Player Device ID: the identifier displayed by the application and used for trial and license management.
  • Activation information: trial status, activation status, plan, activation date, and expiration date where applicable.
  • Purchase information: transaction or order reference, purchased plan, amount, purchase date, payment status, and refund status.
  • Email address: when needed to identify a purchase, answer a support request, or handle a refund request.
  • Playlist management information: playlist name and playlist URL when you choose to submit a playlist through the Wi Player playlist-management page.
  • Basic technical information: limited network, security, error, or request information that may be processed by our hosting and payment providers as part of operating the service.
  • Local website preferences: for example, the language selected on the website may be remembered locally in your browser.

Wi Player Device ID

The current Android application derives the Wi Player Device ID from Android's system-provided Android ID and displays it in an easy-to-read six-pair format such as AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF.

This display format does not mean Wi Player is collecting your hardware MAC address. Customers should use only the Device ID shown inside Wi Player for activation and support.

Purpose of the Device ID

The Device ID lets Wi Player recognize the application/device for licensing purposes. It is used to start and enforce the trial period, check whether Wi Player is activated, associate a purchase with the correct activation, provide support, and help prevent repeated trial or licensing abuse.

Free Trial Data

When a new eligible Device ID is first registered, Wi Player may create a trial record containing the Device ID, trial status, trial start time, and expiration time. This record allows Wi Player to determine whether the trial is still active and helps prevent unlimited new trials created by repeated reinstallations.

Activation and License Data

Wi Player may keep the Device ID together with the activation status, selected plan, activation date, and expiration date where applicable. This information is needed so the application can verify the license when it starts or checks activation status.

Playlist Management Data

You provide your own playlist or provider URL. Wi Player does not sell, select, own, or supply the playlist or the media it references.

The current website/backend may store the playlist name and playlist URL so the Wi Player device can retrieve and manage the playlist. The application then downloads and caches media catalog information locally on the customer's device for normal use and faster navigation.

Wi Player does not treat the customer's playlist content as its own media library and does not sell that information. We aim to minimize server-side playlist retention as the playlist-transfer system is further developed.

Local Media Catalog Storage

The Wi Player application is designed to download and cache the media catalog used by the player locally on the customer's device. Wi Player's activation database is not intended to become a hosted library of a customer's channels, movies, or series.

Third-party providers may, of course, operate their own servers independently of Wi Player.

Viewing Activity

Wi Player is not designed as an advertising or viewing-profile service. We do not need to build a marketing profile of the channels, movies, or series a customer chooses to play in order to sell a Wi Player activation.

Payment and Transaction Data

Wi Player may keep the minimum information needed to prove and manage a purchase, such as a transaction or order ID, Device ID, plan, amount, purchase date, payment status, refund status, and purchase email where needed.

Wi Player does not need to store your full card number, CVV, or online-banking credentials. Sensitive payment details are handled by the payment provider used for the transaction.

Email and Contact Information

An email address may be used to identify a purchase, communicate about a payment or refund, respond to a support request, or confirm that a person requesting purchase support is connected to the transaction.

A phone number is not required for normal Wi Player activation or refund handling unless a future service specifically requires one and we tell you before collecting it.

Legal Bases for Processing

Depending on the information and the law that applies, Wi Player may process information because it is necessary to provide the service or fulfill a purchase, to protect the service against fraud and abuse, to comply with legal or accounting obligations, or because the customer has given consent where consent is required.

Sale or Rental of Personal Information

No. Wi Player does not sell or rent customer personal information. Information may be shared only when reasonably necessary with service providers that help operate the application, website, hosting, security, support, or payment processing, or when required by law.

Service Providers

Wi Player currently uses Cloudflare infrastructure for parts of its backend and database services. Cloudflare may process technical request and network information as part of providing that infrastructure.

Payment providers, such as PayPal when offered, process payment and transaction information according to their own privacy terms. Wi Player does not receive the customer's full card credentials from the payment provider.

Cookies, Trackers and Local Preferences

At the time of this policy, the Wi Player website does not intentionally add advertising trackers, advertising pixels, or third-party marketing analytics. The website may store simple local preferences, such as the selected language, in the customer's browser.

Cloudflare and payment providers may still process normal technical information required to deliver, secure, and operate their services.

International Data Processing

Yes. Internet infrastructure and payment providers may operate systems in multiple countries. When Wi Player uses third-party providers such as Cloudflare or PayPal, information may be processed according to those providers' infrastructure, contracts, and privacy protections.

Data Retention

We aim to keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected. Activation and transaction records may need to be retained for licensing, accounting, fraud prevention, refund handling, support, tax, dispute resolution, or legal obligations.

Playlist records are handled as described above and are not treated as a customer media library owned or supplied by Wi Player.

Data We Do Not Intend to Collect

Wi Player does not need your contacts, personal photos, private messages, unrelated personal files, or full payment-card details to provide normal player activation and playlist functionality.

We also do not ask customers to submit a hardware MAC address for normal activation; customers should use only the Device ID displayed inside Wi Player.

Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the information we process, including limiting the information collected and relying on established hosting and payment providers. No internet service can promise absolute security, so customers should also protect their own Device ID, playlist credentials, provider credentials, and transaction records.

Children’s Privacy

Wi Player is a general media-player application and is not designed to intentionally collect personal information from children. Customers are responsible for the playlists and media sources they choose to use and for supervising use of the application where appropriate.

Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to ask about personal information associated with you, request correction, request deletion where appropriate, object to or restrict certain processing, or make a complaint to a competent data-protection authority.

Some transaction, security, accounting, anti-fraud, or legal records may need to be kept even when a deletion request is made.

Privacy Requests

Use the Contact Us page and provide enough information for us to identify the relevant activation, purchase, or support record. We may need to verify the request before changing or disclosing account-related information.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

Yes. Wi Player may update this Privacy Policy when the application, website, payment process, service providers, or data-handling practices change. The updated version and revision date will be published on this page.

Mandatory Privacy Rights

No. This Privacy Policy explains how Wi Player intends to handle information. It does not remove privacy or consumer rights that applicable law says cannot be waived or excluded.

Contact Information

Use the Contact Us page for privacy, activation, payment, refund, or data-related questions. An official support email and business contact details will be added before public commercial launch.
